Troops Disrupt Terrorist Financing in Borno, Seize N37m

On February 16, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force North East, under Operation Hadin Kai, intercepted N37 million concealed in a bag along with several mobile phones believed to be linked to terrorist financing. This operation, described by Lieutenant Colonel Uba Sani as a major breakthrough, aims to dismantle the financial networks supporting terrorist logistics in the region.

The troops conducted a stop-and-search operation based on credible intelligence, resulting in the apprehension of five individuals. This action is part of a broader strategy to cut off the financial lifeline of terrorist groups and maintain pressure along key transit routes.

Following recent defensive successes, the troops are also engaged in coordinated night ambushes against known routes used by insurgents.
