Troops Kill Boko Haram Commander, Recover N37 Million

On February 16, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, led by Lt. Col.

Sani Uba, conducted a successful operation that resulted in the death of a Boko Haram commander and several others. The operation took place at 0530 hours, where troops executed a coordinated night ambush along a known terrorist crossing point used by ISWAP elements transitioning between Cameroon and Nigeria.

The terrorists were caught unaware, leading to a tactical advantage for the troops, who employed enfilade fire to force a withdrawal and subsequently exploited the contact area. This operation resulted in the recovery of a substantial cache of logistics supplies, including N37 million and multiple mobile phones linked to terrorist activities.

The operation aimed to disrupt the terrorists' supply network and maintain control over the area, reinforcing the troops' determination to dismantle the operational capabilities of terrorist groups in the region.
