Scholar Condemns Terrorism at NASFAT Ramadan Lecture

During the annual Ramadan lecture organized by the Nasrullahi Fatih Society (NASFAT) at the NASFAT Islamic Centre along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, a scholar condemned terrorism and forced conversions, stating these actions are anti-Islamic. The event, attended by Ogun State Deputy Governor Hajia Noimot Salako-Oyedun and represented by Dr.

Obafemi Hamzat, focused on the theme "Whoever saves a life saves humanity." The scholar, Abdullateef, stressed that Islam promotes peace, justice, and the sanctity of human life, and that terrorism, kidnapping, and forced conversions are not part of Islamic teachings. He cited Quranic injunctions against unjust killing and emphasized the need for Muslims to reject extremist interpretations of their faith.

The lecture also addressed broader societal challenges, including corruption and the obstruction of justice, urging public officials to be accountable for their actions, especially in cases involving violent crime.
