Terrorist's Wife and Children Surrender to Nigerian Troops

On August 28, 2023, Yaganama Abdul, 45, the wife of a suspected terrorist, surrendered to troops of the Nigerian Army in the Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State, along with her two children, Yafatai Abdul, 9, and Guja Abdul, 4. The surrender occurred around 4 PM after the family escaped from the Burari terrorist enclave, prompted by violent clashes between rival terrorist factions in the region.

Following their surrender, preliminary interrogation by the troops of the 112 Task Force Battalion indicated that the family fled due to the escalating violence. The escapees were profiled and documented as part of ongoing security and intelligence procedures.
