Kaduna Lawmaker Kidnapped by Terrorists on Return from Official Trip

Honourable Usman Garba Zingo, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Kajuru Constituency, was abducted by suspected terrorists on February 11 while traveling back to Kaduna from an official assignment in Zamfara State. The abduction occurred along a highway close to Kaduna, where armed men intercepted the vehicle conveying the lawmaker, forcing it to stop.

Zingo was taken by the assailants, while his driver was left behind. Security agencies were alerted, but the gunmen had already escaped by the time they arrived.

As of the report, there had been no contact with the lawmaker's family, and it was unclear if any ransom demands had been made. The incident underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures to address the escalating cases of abductions along highways in the North-West region of Nigeria.
