Nine Killed in Terror Attacks on Niger Communities

In a series of violent attacks in Niger, nine people were killed, beginning on Thursday when an improvised explosive device detonated along the Dakera-Babanna road, killing four individuals. Mallam Hassan Moham reported to Daily Trust that a truck conveying victims was involved in the incident.

On Friday, suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Kpenya, resulting in the deaths of three people, including Mallam Yusuf Na Allah, a former principal of the Government Day Secondary School in Dekara, and Alhaji Zakari Abubakar. The violence continued into Saturday, with two farmers killed and two vigilantes injured during an attack in the Pissa community, Borgu Local Government Area.

Residents reported that the victims were ambushed while returning from their farms. The situation has created fear among the local population, forcing many to flee their homes, as the area has become increasingly unsafe due to the threat of further attacks and kidnappings.

The Niger State Police Command spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incidents but did not provide further details at the time of the report.
