Terrorists Attack Military Camp in Borno State

On Monday, a military camp in Damboa, Borno State, was attacked by suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists around 12:50 PM. The assault targeted the 25 Task Force Brigade and lasted less than 30 minutes, with sporadic gunfire reported in the vicinity.

ASP Nahum Daso, spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, confirmed the attack and noted that a combined security operation thwarted the terrorists' attempt to infiltrate the community. Residents reported a horrific night as the terrorists attempted to breach the military camp, but the efforts of the gallant troops were acknowledged for preventing further infiltration.

This incident follows a recent attack where terrorists burned down a military base in Ngosh, resulting in civilian casualties and the abduction of 300 residents. The group Jama'atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda'awati wal-Jihad claimed responsibility for the Ngosh attack and threatened to extend their terror activities towards Maiduguri and Abuja.
