Oyo Governor Makinde: Education Will Not Be Disrupted

Oyo State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde stated that terrorism will not derail education in the state, following the successful rescue of kidnapped teachers.

He pledged comprehensive support for the affected students and teachers, ensuring they can return to school without academic setbacks. The governor announced that the administration will manage the situation involving a Baptist school, despite it being privately owned, and will provide necessary rehabilitation support for the victims.

He commended the collaboration among security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Amotekun Corps, and local hunters, which led to the successful operation. Major General Chinedu Nnebeif of the Nigerian Army disclosed that the operation aimed not only to rescue the victims but also to dismantle the criminal syndicate behind the abduction.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been closely monitoring the operation, requesting daily updates. The operation involved significant pressure on the terrorists, leading to the unconditional release of the captives.
