Gwamna Emerges Key Contender for Gombe Governorship 2027

Jamilu Isiaku Gwamna is a key contender in the upcoming 2027 gubernatorial elections in Gombe State, Nigeria. He is running under the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Isa Pantami of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Bello Bala Tinka of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Gwamna has been an influential political figure since the return to democracy in 1999, having contested for the governorship multiple times since 2003. His professional background includes roles at the Nigerian Bank of Commerce and Industry and the Kaduna Aluminium Company, where he served as Group Chief Accountant.

He founded Amstrade Ventures Limited and later became the Executive Chairman of the Gombe State Water Board. In November 2013, he was appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO).

Gwamna's extensive political and economic networks, along with his experience in corporate governance, position him as a strong candidate for the governorship of Gombe State.
