Disu's New Era for Accountability in Nigerian Policing

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwanu Disu has initiated a shift towards accountability and professionalism within the Nigerian Police Force, particularly in preparation for the upcoming governorship elections in Ekiti State. Disu has committed to ensuring that police operations adhere strictly to democratic principles and the law, emphasizing the need for absolute neutrality and professionalism.

He has outlined a comprehensive security framework to cover 16 local government areas, 154 wards, and 2,500 polling units to guarantee the safety of personnel and voters. Disu has sternly warned political actors against any attempts to undermine the electoral process, stating that anyone found guilty of electoral offenses will face the full weight of the law.
