MultiChoice Talent Factory Launches Masterclasses in Nigeria

The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) has initiated a series of masterclasses across eight Nigerian states to enhance the skills of filmmakers and television practitioners. This initiative features 13 regional masterclasses in collaboration with film festivals and creative guilds, celebrating eight years of investment in Nigeria’s creative economy.

The first masterclass, titled "International Sales and Distribution Executive (ISDE)," took place on August 24 in partnership with the Nigerian International Film Summit, focusing on the theme “From Script to Market: The Future of Cinema in Africa.” Key speakers included Kene Mkparu, President and CEO of KOMWORLD Cinemas, Funmi Onuma, and Ijeoma Onah. Discussions centered on international sales and distribution strategies for African filmmakers.

MTF Academy Director Akaoma Onyeonoru emphasized the importance of understanding distribution for the success of African stories. The second session, the Africa Microdrama Summit, addressed the growing demand for short-form content.

The masterclass series will continue in Ogun, Oyo, Imo, Abia, Delta, Rivers, Abuja, and Kano.
