Abdullahi Warns Against Replacing Shettima Ahead of 2027

Abdullahi, a leader of the millet farmers' association, expressed concerns regarding the potential replacement of Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections. During a discussion with Daily Trust, he stated that voters had supported the Muslim/Muslim ticket and emphasized that removing Shettima could negatively impact the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its electoral fortunes.

Abdullahi highlighted that farmers across Nigeria expect Shettima to remain in his position, asserting that there is no justification for his replacement. He cautioned that such a move could affect the party's previous electoral support, which was linked to the Muslim/Muslim ticket.

Abdullahi also noted Shettima's performance, stating it has been commendable both domestically and internationally, amidst growing political conversations about the composition of the party's ticket for the upcoming elections.
