Arsenal's Thomas Partey Faces Additional Rape Charges as Police Probe Expands

Thomas Partey, a 32-year-old Ghanaian footballer who plays for Arsenal, has been charged with two additional counts of rape, increasing the total number of women connected to the case to four. Partey had already pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three complainants.

The new charges stem from alleged incidents in 2020, with the police investigation starting in February 2022. Partey is scheduled to appear in court on March 13 for a hearing related to the new allegations.

He had previously entered a not guilty plea to the original charges related to incidents in 2021 and 2022. The full trial is set to be overseen by a High Court judge starting on November 2 this year.

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in October 2020 in a £45.3 million transfer deal. The club has confirmed his signing and his legal team is led by lawyer Jenni Wiltshire.
