Kwara Police Arrest Two Suspected Cultists in Ilorin

The Kwara State Police Command arrested two suspected cult members, identified as 33-year-old Abdullahi Omotoho and Abdullahi Kawu, during intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks operating within Ilorin metropolis. The arrests were made following credible intelligence and sustained surveillance operations.

A Beretta pistol was recovered from the suspects during the operation. The police statement, issued by the command's public relations officer, Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, indicated that Omotoho is a member of the notorious Klan Avea cult group.

The police are intensifying their campaign against cultism and violent crime to ensure public safety across the state. Preliminary investigations have provided leads regarding the activities of criminal gangs operating in the metropolis, and efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the group.

The suspects remain in police custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations. State Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi commended the professionalism and dedication of the officers involved in the operation.
