Bus Accident in Oyo: Three Dead, Five Rescued

On Wednesday, a tragic accident occurred when a Suzuki bus, registered number LEW 484 XA, lost control and plunged into the Ariyo River along Amuloko Road in Ibadan, Oyo State. The Oyo State Fire Service Agency, led by Chairman Mr.

Maroof Akinwand, received a distress call regarding the incident and promptly deployed personnel to the scene. Upon arrival, they found that the bus was carrying eight passengers.

Unfortunately, three bodies were recovered, while five individuals were rescued alive and transported to a private hospital in the Jeged area. The police, led by ASP Aishat Ibrahim from the Ogber Division Headquarters, attributed the cause of the accident to reckless driving.

Mr. Akinwand advised motorists to drive carefully and observe road safety rules to avoid unnecessary accidents.

He also expressed appreciation for the support from the Oyo State Road Transport Management Agency and the Ona Ara Local Government, represented by Chairman Glorious Temitop Dure, during the rescue operations.
