Three Killed in Akwa Ibom Road Accident Involving Truck

On Wednesday, a tragic road accident in Akwa Ibom State resulted in the deaths of three individuals. The incident occurred at Ett Junction in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area when a Mack truck, registered as XS 761 LSD, attempted to overtake a parked vehicle belonging to Sterl Petrochem Fertil Limit.

The truck collided with a commercial tricycle, leading to the fatalities. Although the Federal Road Safety Corp has not yet released an official statement regarding the crash, Aniekem Finbarr, the manager of Sterl Petrochem Fertil Limit, confirmed the incident and expressed deep sadness over the loss.

The company extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and pledged support during this difficult time. They reaffirmed their commitment to upholding safety standards and preventing future accidents, highlighting ongoing safety measures, including distributing reflectors to local motorcyclists and deploying trained flagmen in high-risk areas.
