Three Killed in Truck-Tricycle Collision in Akwa Ibom

On Wednesday, a tragic motor accident occurred at Ett Junction in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, resulting in the deaths of at least three people. The incident involved a Mack truck with the registration number XS 761 LSD, which reportedly collided with a commercial tricycle while attempting to overtake a parked vehicle belonging to Sterl Petrochem Fertilis Limit.

Although the Federal Road Safety Corp has not yet released an official statement, Sterl Petrochem expressed deep sadness over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. Aniekem Finbarr, head of the company's media unit, confirmed the tragic road traffic incident and stated that the company is committed to safety and will provide necessary support to the affected families.

The police and Joint Task Force security agencies are managing the situation to ensure traffic flow while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
