Oyo Police Arrest Three in Suspected Human Parts Trade

The Oyo State Police Command announced the arrest of three suspects involved in the suspected trade of human parts. The arrests took place during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by a patrol team in the Adekil area of Agugu, Ibadan.

The police intercepted an unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle and apprehended the rider, Oyategb Joseph, who was found with a package containing flesh and intestines believed to be human parts. Joseph confessed to obtaining the human parts from an unknown individual in the Oritaperin area and admitted to selling them to two other individuals.

Following his confession, police arrested Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo, 46, and Ayodel Taiwo, 55, who also confessed to purchasing the human parts. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation, and upon completion, the suspects will be charged in court.

The police assured the public of ongoing efforts to ensure justice and urged residents to report any related activities.
