Three Killed in Lagos Cult Clash After Birthday Party

On Thursday, three men were killed in a suspected cult clash in Lagos, following a birthday party organized by a member of the Epetedo area community. The incident occurred in the early hours of the day when the victims, identified as members of the Ay cult group, were ambushed by rival cultists from the Eiy group as they returned home from the celebration.

A fourth individual managed to escape the attack, which reportedly involved machete assaults. The police source indicated that the attack was linked to ongoing rivalries between cult groups in the area.

The victims were reportedly attacked around 3 AM after the party, which was attended by members of both cults. The anti-cultism advocacy platform, Confra Naija, identified the deceased as Simpli China and noted that the attack was premeditated, as the Eiy members had laid an ambush.

This incident adds to a troubling trend of cult-related violence in Lagos and Ogun State, with two adults killed in separate incidents a week prior.
