Three Rescued After Failed Church Attack in Kwara State

On Sunday, a failed attack occurred at ECWA Church in Omugo, located in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, where armed men attempted to abduct church members during a service. The swift intervention of joint security forces led to the successful rescue of three victims.

Reports indicated that at least seven people were abducted during the incident, although further details were not provided. Bolanle Olukoju, the state commissioner for communication, confirmed the rescue and commended the immediate response of security forces and local vigilantes in thwarting the attack.

The Kwara State government condemned the assault on the place of worship, labeling it a cowardly act. Olukoju emphasized the need for ongoing security efforts to ensure the safe return of remaining victims and to apprehend the perpetrators.
