Thugs Attack Benue PDP Media Consultant, Burn Car

On a Friday night, thugs attacked Bemgba Iortyom, the newly appointed media consultant for the Benue State People's Democratic Party (PDP). The attack occurred just 24 hours after his appointment was announced by Dan Nyikwagh at the PDP secretariat in Makurdi.

Iortyom recounted his ordeal, stating that unknown assailants approached him while he was in his Peugeot 406 saloon car. Despite the attackers blocking his path and threatening him with weapons, Iortyom managed to escape by quickly opening the car door and fleeing.

The assailants then poured fuel on his vehicle and set it ablaze, leaving it burnt to ashes. Iortyom reported the incident to the police, and investigations are currently ongoing.

Udem Edet, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed that the victim's report has been received and that police investigations are underway.
