Thugs Disrupt ADC Secretariat Opening in Cross River

On Saturday, during the planned opening of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secretariat in Bakassi Local Government Area, Cross River State, a group of thugs disrupted the event. Reports indicate that the attackers stormed the venue, forcibly dismantling the setup, including canopies and sound equipment, while shouting that the ADC should not operate in the council area.

A video circulating on social media captured the chaos, showing a man believed to be leading the group giving orders to scatter everything. The Cross River State Police Command confirmed the incident, describing the perpetrators as hoodlums.

ASP Sundai Eitokpah, a police spokesperson, stated that officers were deployed to restore order, preventing the situation from escalating into a full-blown crisis. Despite the intervention, the event could not continue, and no arrests were made.

This disruption follows a similar incident on Tuesday, where ADC activities were also interrupted in Calabar.
