Fayose Critiques Obi's Response to Benue Attack

Businessman Isaac Fayose publicly criticized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), regarding his handling of an incident where suspected thugs attacked Obi's convoy during a visit to Benue State. In a video posted on his verified Facebook page, Fayose expressed disappointment that Obi left Benue for Plateau State without completing his humanitarian visit to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by recent violence.

Fayose emphasized that while Obi has the right to travel anywhere in Nigeria, a more aggressive and confrontational approach is necessary to win the 2027 presidential elections against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Bola Tinubu. He stated, “If they bring thugs, we bring our own thugs.

Thugs for thugs, fire for fire, trouble for trouble,” indicating that a gentleman's approach would lead to electoral defeat.
