Tiger Woods Receives Five-Year Driving Ban After Plea Deal

Tiger Woods had his driver’s license suspended for five years after reaching a plea agreement following a rollover car crash in Florida on March 27. During a live-streamed hearing at the Martin County Courthouse in Stuart, Judge Darren Steele warned Woods that any driving would result in immediate jail time.

Woods initially faced a DUI charge, which was dropped as part of the plea deal where he pleaded no contest to lesser charges of careless and reckless driving. The 50-year-old golfer was involved in an accident near his Jupiter Island home, where his SUV flipped after clipping a truck.

Authorities found he had not been drinking but appeared impaired and had two hydrocodone pills in his pocket. Woods refused a urinalysis and was charged, jailed, and later released on bond.

He was accompanied by his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, during the hearing. Woods has since sought treatment outside the U.S. and last played in an official PGA Tour event in July 2024.
