TikTok Removes 4.8M Violative Videos in Nigeria Q1 2026

In its Q1 2026 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, TikTok announced the removal of more than 4.8 million violative videos in Nigeria, which constitutes only 0.6% of the total videos uploaded by the Nigerian TikTok community during this period. The report highlights that 99.8% of the removed videos were proactively detected and removed before user reports, with 92.8% of violating content taken down within 24 hours of posting.

Globally, TikTok removed over 184 million videos, representing 0.5% of total uploads. The report also noted that TikTok removed more than 86 million fake accounts worldwide in the first quarter of 2026, reflecting its ongoing investment in moderation systems.

Specifically in Nigeria, TikTok removed over 118,000 pieces of content under the policy for edited media and AI-generated content (AIGC) during the same quarter.
