TikTok Bans Carter Efe's Account with 5.6 Million Followers

TikTok permanently banned the account of Nigerian skit maker Oderhowho Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, due to multiple violations of its community guidelines. The ban was confirmed on Wednesday, with the account having amassed over 5.6 million followers and over 158 million likes before its removal.

The account served as a significant platform for Efe to share comedy videos, promote music, and engage with fans through live broadcasts. This incident marks Efe's second experience with account removal; in June 2025, TikTok had removed another account belonging to him, which had approximately 3.5 million followers at that time.

That prior action followed a controversy related to comments he made about Nigerian singer Wizkid during a livestream. Efe later apologized for the incident and managed to return to the platform, where he rebuilt his following to over 5.6 million.
