South West Governors Call for State Police and Enhanced Forest Surveillance

South West governors, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, have urged the federal government to address the need for state police and enhance forest surveillance to tackle criminal elements hiding in vast forest belts. The governors agreed to deploy forest guards across the South West states and establish the South West Security Fund (SWSF) to improve intelligence gathering and rapid response.

They also emphasized the importance of tighter border management and improved identification systems to address security challenges posed by irregular migration.
