Timi Frank Urges Obasanjo to Stop Attacks on Atiku

Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urged former President Olusegun Obasanjo to cease his recurring criticisms of Atiku Abubakar, particularly as elections approach. In a statement issued on Saturday, Frank accused Obasanjo of making Atiku a scapegoat every four years, labeling this behavior as “outdated blackmail.” He emphasized that the decision of who becomes Nigeria's president lies with the electorate, not with any political godfather.

Frank expressed hope that Obasanjo would witness Atiku's presidency before his death, asserting that if Atiku is destined to lead, no one can prevent it. He criticized Obasanjo for blaming Atiku for the failures of their shared administration from 1999 to 2007, arguing that Obasanjo should take responsibility for both the successes and failures of his government.

Frank also challenged Obasanjo to support a candidate for the 2027 presidential election rather than attacking Atiku, stating that Nigerians are tired of Obasanjo's “stale and outdated” rhetoric.
