Tin Can Island Port Exceeds 2025 Revenue Target by N1.6 Trillion

The Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service reported a revenue collection of N1.6 trillion, surpassing its 2025 annual target of N1.52 trillion. This announcement was made by Oscar Ivara, the command's public relations officer, during a handover ceremony attended by Assistant Comptroller General Frank Onyeka.

Onyeka, who is the immediate past Customs Area Controller for the Tin Can Island Port Command, noted that the command generated N401.01 billion in revenue in the first quarter of 2026. The revenue growth was attributed to disciplined operations, improved compliance measures, and stakeholder engagement.

Significant anti-smuggling breakthroughs were also achieved, including the seizure of illicit drugs and prohibited goods valued at N35 billion. The command's performance showed a 29.85% increase in revenue from N575.36 billion in the first half of 2024 to N747.07 billion in the same period in 2025, reflecting a surplus of N171.72 billion and an achievement of 98.03% of its half-year revenue target.
