Tinubu Appoints Enitan as New Head of Civil Service

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), effective August 27, 2026. Enitan succeeds Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who is retiring upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 60.
The announcement was made in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. Enitan, an indigene of Osun State, is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and is the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service, having served for seven years and seven months.
His previous postings include the Ministry of Police Affairs, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and the Office of the Vice President. The President commended Walson-Jack for her distinguished service and urged Enitan to consolidate ongoing reforms, enhance professionalism, and create a more effective Civil Service aligned with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Enitan was born on December 12, 1966, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Lagos and a Master of Science degree in Public Policy Analysis from Nasarawa State University.
