Tinubu Appoints Segun Aina as New JAMB Registrar

President Bola Tinubu appointed Professor Segun Aina as the new registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), effective immediately. Aina succeeds Professor Haq Oloyede, whose second tenure will end on July 31, 2026.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Tinubu's special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Professor Aina is a renowned academic and system expert with vast experience in examination administration and digital infrastructure.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent, a Master’s degree in Internet Computing and Network Security, and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing from Loughborough University. Aina began his association with JAMB during his National Youth Service and has over 15 years of post-graduate experience.

He is noted as one of Nigeria's youngest professors of computer engineering, achieving this rank at age 39. Tinubu expressed confidence in Aina's ability to build on the achievements of his predecessor.
