Tinubu Approves 30-Day Visa Exemption for Rwandans

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a 30-day visa exemption for Rwandan nationals, allowing them to enter Nigeria without a visa. This decision follows a statement issued at the Africa CEO Forum held in Kigali, Rwanda, and is part of a reciprocal agreement with the Rwandan government, which will grant similar visa-free access to Nigerian citizens.

The initiative aims to activate tourism and business engagements between the two nations. However, it is clarified that anyone intending to stay beyond the approved 30-day period must obtain the appropriate visa through the Nigerian embassy or high commission abroad or via the Nigeria e-visa platform.

The Nigerian Immigration Service has been directed to implement this policy immediately, which reflects the strong diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and Rwanda and promotes intra-African movement, tourism, and economic cooperation in line with continental integration goals.
