Tinubu Launches N111bn Superhighway Project

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu officially launched the construction of the fourth legacy superhighway, approving an immediate release of N111 billion for the project. This superhighway will span 700 kilometers, connecting Akwanga, Kaduna, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Biu, and Maiduguri.

The announcement was made during a groundbreaking ceremony led by Minister of Works David Umahi and Professor Nentaw Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the Progress Congress. Tinubu emphasized that the superhighway is a critical component of the federal government's road infrastructure development program, designed to enhance connectivity, improve road safety, and stimulate socio-economic activities along the corridor.

The project will cover several strategic routes and aims to link communities, markets, and opportunities across the North Central and North East geopolitical zones. Tinubu also noted that work has already commenced on the Gombe-Maiduguri axis and assured Nigerians of the project's timely completion, which is expected to create job opportunities and foster economic growth.
