Tinubu Congratulates Oyebanji on Re-election Victory

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his re-election in Ekiti State, which took place on a Saturday. Tinubu characterized the victory as a vote of confidence in continuity, stability, and people-centered governance.

In a statement released on Sunday, Tinubu praised the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the elections and commended law enforcement agencies for maintaining law and order. He charged the Independent National Electoral Commission to continue investing in conducting peaceful, free, fair, and credible elections, especially with the upcoming Osun governorship election in August 2026 and the general elections next year.

Oyebanji's re-election marks a significant achievement as he becomes the first governor in Ekiti State's history to win back-to-back elections. Tinubu noted that Oyebanji's first term saw significant strides in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare, and rural development.

He urged Oyebanji to remain magnanimous and to carry the Ekiti people along in consolidating achievements over the next four years.
