Tinubu Congratulates Oyebanji on Re-election Victory

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his re-election, which took place during the off-season governorship election where Oyebanji secured 319,224 votes, defeating his closest rival from the People's Democratic Party, who garnered 40,533 votes. In a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu characterized Oyebanji's fresh mandate as a clear vote of confidence in continuity and stability.

He urged Oyebanji to remain magnanimous in victory and to carry the people of Ekiti along as he consolidates achievements over the next four years. Tinubu also commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure free and fair elections in the upcoming Osun State governorship election in August.

Oyebanji is noted as the first governor in Ekiti State's history to win re-election consecutively, marking significant strides in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare, and rural development during his first term.
