Tinubu Appoints Gbajabiamila, Masari for APC Primaries

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, has appointed Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff, and Ibrahim Masari, a Special Adviser on Political Matters, to oversee the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the Senate and House of Representatives in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This decision was made during a meeting with top government officials and lawmakers to address concerns regarding the fairness and integrity of the internal party processes during candidate selection.

Gbajabiamila and Masari will collaborate with APC governors and party leaders nationwide to ensure that the primaries are conducted in a calm and orderly manner. They are expected to engage with state governors and party leaders across the country and will report back to the President on the process.

The APC National Working Committee will carry out official duties in line with the Electoral Act and party rules, including issuing notices for primaries, screening candidates, appointing committees, and announcing results.
