Tinubu Orders APC Governors to Conduct Primaries

On Thursday, during a meeting at the presidential villa, Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, directed governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to proceed with conducting primaries as stipulated by the Electoral Act. Umar Bago, the Governor of Niger State, disclosed this information to state house correspondents, emphasizing that Tinubu has ceded executive power to the governors to carry out the primaries.

Bago expressed appreciation for Tinubu's support and reiterated that the governors have the authority to conduct the primaries based on either consensus or direct methods as outlined in the Electoral Act.
