IPOB Protests in London, Demands Nnamdi Kanu's Release

On March 18, 2023, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) organized a protest in London during President Bola Tinubu's official visit to the United Kingdom. The demonstrators demanded the release of their detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and gathered at several strategic locations, including Parliament Square, 10 Downing Street, and the Nigerian High Commission.

The protest attracted the attention of passersby and security personnel, with participants carrying placards calling for Kanu's freedom and wearing red caps, a symbol associated with the group. They waved the Biafran flag, which features red, black, and green colors, and chanted "Free Nnamdi Kanu" throughout central London.

The protest remained peaceful, with no reports of clashes or arrests, despite a noticeable security presence. IPOB insists that Kanu's detention is politically motivated and unjust, a claim that the Nigerian government has repeatedly denied.
