Tinubu Celebrates Musliu Smith's 80th Birthday

President Bola Tinubu extended his congratulations to former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Musliu Adeola Smith, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, which was celebrated yesterday. In a statement released by Tinubu, he acknowledged Smith's significant contributions to the Nigerian Police Force and highlighted his integrity, professionalism, and dedication throughout his career.

Smith, who joined the Nigerian Police Force in Enugu in 1972, served in various capacities, eventually becoming the Inspector General of Police on May 29, 1999. He retired from the force in March 2002 and later served as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, overseeing police appointments and promotions until his resignation in 2022.

Tinubu commended Smith's commitment to developing Lagos and his dedication to Islam, wishing him many more years of good health and meaningful service to Lagos and Nigeria.
