Zulum Assures Parents of Abducted Pupils in Maiduguri

During an emotional meeting at the Government House in Maiduguri, Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum reassured parents of the abducted pupils from Mussa Central Primary School, emphasizing the commitment of both his administration and President Bola Tinubu’s government to secure their safe release. Ishaku Jidai, the leader of the parents' delegation, expressed their profound pain and desperation, appealing for assistance in reaching President Tinubu regarding their plight.

The abduction, which occurred on May 15, 2026, involved approximately 44 primary school pupils, many of whom are very young children. Zulum extended sympathies on behalf of the Borno State government and President Tinubu, stating that security agencies have been directed to ensure the children's rescue.

He detailed ongoing efforts with various security agencies, including the National Security Adviser and the Inspector General of Police, to pursue the perpetrators and secure the victims' release. Zulum assured the parents that their message would be conveyed to the President, who has a personal concern for their situation.
