Tinubu Declared APC Presidential Candidate After Primaries

On Tuesday, Bola Tinubu received Anyim Pius Anyim, the former Senate President and Chairman of the APC Presidential Primary Election Committee, at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos, just 48 hours after being declared the winner of the APC presidential primaries. Anyim announced that Tinubu secured 10,999,162 votes, defeating his only challenger, Stanlei Osifo, who received 16,503 votes.

The total number of registered voters was reported at 12,643,306, with 11,069,756 accredited voters and 11,015,665 votes cast. The primary election was conducted across 774 local government areas and 8,809 wards nationwide on May 23, 2026.

This event marked the conclusion of a week-long APC primary calendar, which included various other primaries leading up to the presidential nomination.
