Tinubu Declared APC Presidential Candidate for 2027

On Tuesday, Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, received Anyim Pius Anyim, the former Senate President and Chairman of the APC Presidential Primary Election Committee, at his residence in Ikoyi, Lagos. This visit occurred less than 48 hours after Tinubu was declared the winner of the APC presidential primary election.

The primary, conducted nationwide, saw Tinubu receive 10,999,162 votes, defeating his sole challenger, Stanlei Osifo, a businessman from Edo State, who garnered 16,503 votes. The election involved 12,643,306 registered voters, with 11,069,756 accredited and 11,015,665 votes cast.

Tinubu's victory was confirmed during a nationwide direct primary exercise, marking a significant event in the party's history. The primary election results were officially announced in Abuja, and Tinubu's candidacy was declared in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the APC.
