Sam Amadi, the former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), characterized President Bola Tinubu as a shrewd politician in a recent post. Amadi noted that despite Tinubu's government receiving a poor score, he still manages to navigate the political landscape effectively, suggesting that Tinubu is adept at both appealing to and manipulating various political factions.

He highlighted Tinubu's ability to attract federal legislators and governors to his side as a strategic move ahead of the 2027 re-election bid. Amadi, a staunch supporter of the 2023 presidential candidate from the Labour Party, Peter Obi, acknowledged that Tinubu understands the intricacies of Nigerian politics and can engage in both conciliatory and aggressive tactics as needed.
