Peter Obi Criticizes Tinubu's Leadership on Security

Peter Obi, a presidential candidate from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 elections, stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lacks the capacity to lead Nigeria effectively. Obi made these remarks during an interview hosted by media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo.

He emphasized that Tinubu needs to communicate directly with Nigerians about security issues rather than relying on aides like Bayo Onanuga. Obi criticized Tinubu's response to the ongoing security challenges, comparing it to former President Goodluck Jonathan's handling of the Chibok schoolgirls' abduction in 2014.

He noted that while Jonathan faced criticism for his response to the Chibok incident, Tinubu has not publicly addressed the recent kidnapping of children in Oyo State. Obi's comments come amid renewed political debates regarding the federal government's handling of security and the positioning of political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
