Tinubu Mourns NLC General Secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja

President Bola Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), its affiliate unions, and the legal profession following the death of Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja, the General Secretary of the NLC, who passed away on Thursday. In a statement released on Friday by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Ugboaja as a significant voice in the workers’ movement, whose efforts in engaging with government authorities and employers were invaluable.

Tinubu highlighted Ugboaja's dedication to advancing workers' rights, welfare, and dignity throughout his professional life as a veteran trade unionist and legal practitioner. He noted Ugboaja's role in coordinating the labor movement's affairs and providing strategic direction during critical times.

The President prayed for comfort for Ugboaja's family and the labor community, emphasizing the meaningful service Ugboaja provided during his life. Tinubu concluded with a prayer for Ugboaja's soul to rest in peace.
