Tinubu Appoints David Umahi for 2027 Election Campaign Role

President Bola Tinubu appointed David Umahi, the Minister of Works, as the Deputy Director General Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation within the ruling party's 223-member structure, ahead of the January 2027 elections. This appointment indicates that campaign preparations are already in progress.

During a recent inspection of the Cross River-Ebonyi-Benue-Abuja Trans-Saharan Highway, Umahi appealed to residents of Ebonyi, Benue, and Enugu to vote for Tinubu, asserting that his presidency is crucial for the completion of ongoing federal road projects. He emphasized that Tinubu's commitment is vital for infrastructure development, particularly in areas previously neglected.

Umahi acknowledged the financial challenges faced by the government but insisted that work is advancing on various projects. He credited Tinubu for approving funding for the Trans-Saharan corridor despite fiscal constraints and criticized past administrations for the infrastructure deficits that have led to current challenges.
