Tinubu Seeks Senate Approval for Key Appointments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally sought the Senate's confirmation for the appointment of Lamido Abubakar Yuguda as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. This request was presented during a session where Senate President Godswill Akpabio directed that the nomination be referred to the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Financial Institutions, which is expected to report back within one week.

Additionally, Tinubu has requested the Senate to confirm the reappointment of Benedict Umeno as a member of the Code of Conduct Bureau, representing the South East. This nomination has also been referred to the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption, with a deadline set for the submission of its report within one week.

Furthermore, Tinubu has relieved Wale Edun of his duties as Minister of Finance, with Ahm Dangiwa taking over the role as the coordinating Minister of the Economy.
