Tinubu slashes cost of kidney dialysis in federal hospitals to N12,000

President Bola Tinubu has approved a significant reduction in the cost of kidney dialysis sessions in federal hospitals, bringing the price down to N12,000. The announcement was made by Daniel Bwala, the president's spokesperson, on Monday via a social media post.

This initiative will initially start in ten public hospitals and will later be expanded to federal medical centers and teaching hospitals nationwide. The move is aimed at providing relief to thousands of Nigerians battling kidney disease, many of whom struggle to afford dialysis treatment.

Bwala emphasized that this decision aligns with Tinubu's commitment to improving access to affordable healthcare. This follows Tinubu's previous approval of free caesarean sections for pregnant women in federal hospitals, demonstrating a bold step towards enhancing maternal healthcare and reducing preventable maternal deaths.
