Tinubu Supports New IGP Egbetokun Amid Security Challenges

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his full support to Kayode Egbetokun, the newly appointed Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), during a ceremony acknowledging the current security challenges in Nigeria. Tinubu emphasized the critical nature of Egbetokun's appointment, following the retirement of former IGP Usman Alkali Baba, and urged him to rebuild public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.

The President highlighted the importance of collaboration among security agencies and the need for professionalism at all levels to ensure the safety of lives and property. He expressed confidence in Egbetokun's leadership capabilities and urged him to think innovatively to overcome issues such as banditry, terrorism, and criminal activities.

Tinubu also paid tribute to the outgoing IGP Baba for his contributions to maintaining law and order. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Nuhu Ribadu, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, among others.
