Tinubu Sends 24 Health Sector Bills to Senate for Reform Push

Former Lagos State Governor, Tinubu, has forwarded 24 health sector bills to the Nigerian Senate for consideration. The bills cover key health institutions and regulatory bodies, seeking to reform the healthcare sector.

The proposed amendments aim to enhance efficiency in service delivery by streamlining board structures and reducing membership across various health institutions. The bills include provisions for the management boards of national hospitals, women and children's hospitals, and specialized healthcare centers.

Additionally, the legislation addresses regulatory bodies like NAFDAC and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. The bills also propose the digitization of health records and the establishment of a Federal College of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Tinubu expressed optimism in the Senate's judicious consideration of the bills to strengthen Nigeria's healthcare system.
